OUROBOROS |
THE MIGHTY
OUROBOROS
Why are we looking at
this ancient symbol?
The symbol of
the snake eating it's own tail has been around in many cultures for
thousands of years and can be traced back to Ancient Egypt.
There's a great lesson on improvisation in the Ouroboros.
How often
have you looked for an ending to a scene and only found your brain
frozen in it's path? You aren't
alone. One of the ongoing self criticisms of MOST groups is
the inability to end sends in a satisfying way.
Take a look
at that snake eating its tail. If you are in a scene and near
the end, DON'T LOOK FORWARD!!! The end of the scene is in the
details you have already created. Look at the details from
earlier in the story and RE-INCORPORATE.
(feed the original information back into the story)
And if there are no details to Re-incorporate, you may need to work
on creating stronger "platforms" to launch your scenes from.
